Co-operative housing department has come up with norms which are to be followed by the societies:
  • Before approaching any developer, a General Body meeting should be conducted by the society for the “consent of development” and a committee for this purpose is to be formed.
  • An architect and a legal consultant should be appointed by this committee.
  • This committee should make the other society members aware of the procedures of redevelopment.
  • The committee should follow the guidelines of the co-operative department after they receive tender/ proposal from the developer.
  • The next step is approval of the proposal from the members of the society which is decided in a special general body meeting conducted by the committee.
  • And the final stage is execution of the agreement with the selected developer.
